Litters
Please review our Guidelines for Purchasing a Puppy.
Health Guarantee
You will be guaranteed in writing that your new puppy will remain free from genetic defects for a period of 12 months. If your puppy develops any problems caused by genetics (within 12 months from date of purchase) Shady Hill will replace that puppy with one of like sex, and color at the first available breeding. No money will be refunded. Any claim of a genetic defect must be accompanied with written proof from a licensed veterinarian.
AKC Registration Application
Your new puppy will come with a “Dog Owner Registration Application” through the American Kennel Club (AKC).
Puppies sold as pets are listed with “Limited Registration”.
According to AKC:
“Dogs designated as Limited cannot produce AKC register-able litters but may participate in most AKC events and titling programs.”
Small Animal Health Certificate
Around eight (8) weeks of age: All puppies offered for sale must pass a health clearance conducted by our local Veterinarian. This “Small Animal Health Certificate” will specify the puppy being purchased along with the “New Owner” as the “Consignee”.
Litter Health Maintenance Record
Your new puppy will come with a “Litter Health Maintenance Record”. This record will show all vaccinations, oral medications, along with parasite, flea and tick control that your puppy has received and the date he or she received it. This record will be current to the day you take possession of your new puppy.
It is highly recommended that you contact your local Veterinarian as-soon-as-possible after taking possession of your new puppy. At that time you can provide your Veterinarian a copy of your puppy’s “Litter Health Maintenance Record” to help them set up a future health maintenance schedule for your puppy.
Micro-chipping Puppies
Your new puppy will come with a Micro Chip. It is highly recommend that you register your puppy’s chip with one of the online registry’s - keeping your name and address current. Should your puppy ever become lost or stolen, he or she can be easily identified and returned to you.
After Purchasing a Puppy
To ensure a long viable life - puppies and adult dogs must receive proper nutrition along with an adequate health maintenance program which can be set up through the guidance of your local Veterinarian.
Therefore, after purchasing your puppy - it is highly recommended that you contact your personal veterinarian to schedule your puppy’s future shots and to set up a health maintenance program for your forever friend.
